MANUAL IDLE ADJUSTMENT FOR HARLEY DAVIDSON FUEL-INJECTION (1995-2021/2023)
M8 BIKE'S FARGO INFORMATION Notice to Milwaukee Eight riders.
Despite our clear indications of incompatibility with the M8 on our website, we regularly receive questions about whether our system can be installed on these models: Sorry, but the answer is no!
However, here is some essential information for Harley-Davidson M8 owners: according to a 2016 article in “The Bikers’ Den”, the Milwaukee Eight engines (1746 and 1868 cc) launched in 2017, equipped with eight valves (4 per cylinder, hence the name), producing 10% more torque than the Twin-cam, operate at 850 rpm at idle thanks to factory settings to create the characteristic “potato” sound, although our mechanical approach, developed ten years ago for Twin Cams, achieves an ideal vintage sound at 780 rpm.
Harley-Davidson considers 850 rpm to be the optimal engine speed for the M8, but some dealers in France increase this to 1100 rpm before delivery. Check your tachometer – it should read between 800 and 900 rpm. If it doesn't, contact your dealer for an adjustment. This service should be free.
